Why PR Campaigns Succeed with Professional Talent

Public relations campaigns are designed to capture attention, shape perception, and build lasting connections between a brand and its audience. From product launches and live events to social media activations and press coverage, a strong PR campaign can put your business in the spotlight. But behind every memorable campaign lies one crucial factor: the right people.

Professional talent – models, presenters, brand ambassadors, and promotional staff – play a vital role in bringing campaigns to life. They are not just faces in front of the camera or hosts at an event; they embody your brand message, connect with your target audience, and deliver results that ordinary campaigns often fail to achieve.

At Dreams, we’ve seen first-hand how the right talent can elevate campaigns from good to unforgettable. In this article, we explore why professional talent is the secret ingredient to PR success.

1. Human Connection: Bringing Your Brand Story to Life

Every successful PR campaign tells a story. Whether you’re launching a new product, repositioning your brand, or making headlines at an industry show, the way that story is told determines how well it resonates. Professional talent adds the human element that transforms your campaign into something relatable and memorable.

Credibility: When a confident, articulate ambassador speaks for your brand, your audience listens and trusts the message.

Engagement: Professional talent know how to capture attention in a busy environment – whether through charm, conversation, or stage presence.

Representation: With access to a diverse pool of talent, you can ensure your brand appeals to the audiences you most want to reach.

Campaigns that rely solely on graphics or press materials often struggle to connect emotionally. By contrast, campaigns featuring professional talent create authentic moments of interaction that leave a lasting impression.

2. Professionalism that Enhances Brand Reputation

PR campaigns are often fast-paced, high-profile, and under the scrutiny of media, clients, and customers alike. There is no room for error when your brand is on display. Professional talent bring not only style but also discipline and reliability.

At Dreams, our models and promotional staff are carefully selected not just for their appearance but for their professionalism. They arrive on time, are fully briefed, and know how to adapt to the unexpected. That level of consistency protects your reputation and ensures that everything runs smoothly on the day.

Consider the difference between hiring inexperienced staff versus trained professionals:

Inexperienced staff may struggle to handle large crowds, answer questions, or manage high-pressure situations.

Professional talent understand the flow of an event, the nuances of brand messaging, and the importance of staying composed under pressure.

When your brand is in the public eye, having the right people representing you can mean the difference between a polished campaign and a PR mishap.

3. Maximising Impact Across Media Channels

A modern PR campaign rarely exists in isolation. Press coverage, social media, live events, and digital content all intersect to form a multi-channel strategy. Professional talent make it easier to create shareable, high-impact content across all these platforms.

Photography & Video: Experienced models and presenters know how to perform for the camera, delivering striking visuals that can be used across press releases, adverts, and social platforms.

Live Engagement: At product launches, trade shows, and media events, professional staff create buzz by drawing people in and encouraging participation.

Social Amplification: Charismatic talent generate content that audiences naturally want to share, boosting your campaign’s organic reach.

The result? A campaign that doesn’t just appear in the press, but spreads across social feeds, online conversations, and industry chatter.

The Dreams Advantage

At Dreams, we specialise in supplying professional talent who are more than just a friendly face. Our team includes:

Promotional models who add glamour, confidence, and approachability to any campaign.

Brand ambassadors who immerse themselves in your company’s values and deliver your message with authenticity.

Event staff who manage everything from guest interaction to product demonstration.

We’ve supported campaigns at some of the UK’s biggest venues, including the NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London, and the SEC Glasgow. Our staff have represented clients across industries ranging from automotive and technology to fashion, lifestyle, and FMCG.

When you work with us, you don’t just hire talent – you gain a partner who understands how to make your PR campaign shine. From careful selection to thorough briefing, we ensure your campaign is staffed with the right people to deliver results.

Why PR Campaigns Succeed with Professional Model Talent

A PR campaign can have the best creative strategy, stunning visuals, and flawless press release – but without professional talent to bring it to life, its impact will be limited. Skilled, engaging, and reliable people make all the difference in how your brand is perceived and remembered.

That’s why so many leading brands choose Dreams Agency. With our exceptional models, brand ambassadors, and event staff, your campaign won’t just make headlines – it will make a lasting impression.

From Brand Ambassadors to Photo Models: Why Versatility Matters

In today’s fast-paced marketing landscape, brands need more than just good looks—they need professionals who can adapt, engage, and deliver across every type of campaign. Whether you’re planning a high-energy promotional event or a polished advertising photoshoot, the benefits of working with versatile talent are undeniable.

At Dreams Agency, we understand that our clients don’t just want someone who looks the part—they want someone who embodies the brand, can engage with the public, and present a consistent, professional image across all platforms. This is where versatility becomes a true asset.

What Is a Versatile Model?
A versatile model is someone who brings more than one skill to the table. While many people assume models only work in front of a camera, the reality is that top-tier talent today are multi-skilled professionals. They can transition between:

Photo modelling for campaigns, lookbooks, websites, and billboards

Brand ambassador roles at public or private events

Trade show and exhibition staffing

Experiential marketing campaigns

Live promotional activities with full product knowledge and confidence

This flexibility means clients can use one professional for multiple campaign touchpoints, saving time, budget, and management effort.

The Hidden Cost of Hiring Multiple Specialists
When planning a campaign that involves various formats—think a photoshoot for a new product, followed by an in-store launch, and then a PR event—many brands instinctively look to hire separate specialists for each task. While that may seem like the most efficient approach, it can quickly become expensive and logistically complex.

Hiring different people for each element increases:

Training time – each new hire needs briefing and onboarding

Logistical planning – more schedules to manage

Inconsistency – different individuals may not deliver the same message, tone, or presence

Versatile talent helps eliminate these issues. When one person can handle multiple campaign roles, the result is a streamlined, cohesive brand presence.

How Versatile Models Add Real Value
1. Consistency Across Touchpoints
Your brand identity needs to remain consistent whether it’s seen on a billboard, at a trade show, or during a social media campaign. Using the same professional model across different mediums ensures your audience sees the same face, tone, and energy—creating stronger brand recognition and trust.

2. Seamless Campaign Integration
Multi-skilled talent can easily move between different campaign components. For example, a model who featured in your photoshoot can also appear at your product launch, already equipped with familiarity and confidence about the brand. No need for separate briefing sessions or brand education.

3. Improved ROI
With versatile professionals, you’re getting more output for the same investment. One skilled model who can do both the promo and the shoot means fewer hires, fewer agency fees, and better time management. Ultimately, that translates into a stronger return on investment.

4. On-the-Fly Adaptability
Campaigns evolve. Sometimes the schedule changes, or a new opportunity for exposure arises. Having versatile talent on board means you’re prepared for sudden shifts without the need to source and brief someone new.

Where Versatility Shines: Real-World Scenarios
Photoshoots + PR Events
A beauty brand hires a model for a product photoshoot on Monday and a live PR event on Thursday. Thanks to her familiarity with the product and brand voice, the model represents the brand effortlessly both in static visuals and live interactions.

Exhibitions + Social Media Content
A versatile male model is booked for an automotive trade show, where he not only greets VIP guests but also films short promotional clips and Instagram Reels—extending the brand’s digital presence without a separate content team.

Launch Parties + Sampling Campaigns
For an alcohol brand launching a new beverage, the same promotional staff who attend the launch party are also used for sampling campaigns across the city, ensuring a consistent tone and face that consumers begin to recognise and trust.

Why Work With Dreams Agency?
At Dreams Agency, we specialise in providing highly trained, multi-skilled professionals who bring both presence and personality to every project. Whether you need talent for a high-profile shoot, a buzzing promotional campaign, or a VIP-studded event, our models are ready to step into the role with professionalism and energy.

We go beyond appearances. Every model and brand ambassador in our portfolio is vetted not just for their look, but for their communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work across formats.

What to Look for in a Versatile Model
When choosing talent for a multi-format campaign, consider the following:

Confidence in live settings – Are they articulate and comfortable speaking with the public?

Experience across multiple campaign types – Can they shift from camera-ready poses to spontaneous crowd engagement?

Brand comprehension – Do they take the time to understand your goals, tone, and positioning?

Reliability and professionalism – Are they punctual, presentable, and easy to manage on-site?

At Dreams Agency, we pre-qualify every model and brand ambassador to ensure they meet these standards—and exceed them.

Unlock the Full Potential of Your Brand Activation

In an age where marketing budgets must stretch further, and brand experiences span both physical and digital platforms, the smartest investment is in people who can do more than just one thing well.

Hiring versatile modelling professionals from Dreams Agency means you’re not just filling roles—you’re building relationships with adaptable, experienced talent who become true ambassadors of your brand.

Hospitality Staff Hire for Polo in the Park – London Event

In this blog, we’ll break down what hospitality jobs are, the types of staff you might need, how the hospitality industry works, and give answers to common questions about hiring hospitality staff.

Why Hire Hospitality Staff for Polo in the Park?

Polo in the Park is one of London’s premier summer social events, attracting thousands of guests from all over the UK.
What Are Hospitality Jobs?

Key Areas of Hospitality Work:
Customer service: Waiting staff, bartenders, front-of-house staff, receptionists

Have relevant training (e.g., food safety, allergen awareness)

Know how to work in a team

Hospitality Career Paths – A Quick Look
Many people start with temporary event jobs or entry-level hospitality roles, especially around major London events. It’s a great way to build experience, develop customer service skills, and even find long-term career opportunities.

Example Paths:
Hotel Sector: From receptionist to hotel manager

Event Sector: From event assistant to senior event manager

Senior event managers: Up to £60,000 depending on experience and event size

Training & Qualifications
For most temporary hospitality roles, formal qualifications aren’t essential — but having the right training helps.

Useful certifications include:

Food Hygiene Certificates

Allergen Awareness Training

First Aid at Work

Customer Service Training

Pros & Cons of Working in Hospitality

You can pick up shifts that suit your schedule

There’s potential for overtime or short-term contracts

It’s ideal if you’re looking for flexibility or extra income

Case Study: Promotional Staff for Kara Bag Outdoor Activation

Unisnacks has long been a trusted client for various brand activation campaigns across the food industry. Our relationship with Unisnacks has led to numerous successful projects, each tailored to specific brand objectives including product sampling and demonstrations at stores across the country. The most significant collaboration to date was the Kara Bag Outdoor Activation, which was designed to build awareness of Kara, a new addition to Unisnacks’ food portfolio. This marketing campaign targeted both end consumers and retail stores, introducing them to the exciting new coconut-based product range.

The goal of the Kara Bag Outdoor Activation was to establish Kara’s presence in the competitive coconut-based product market by increasing its visibility among both the public and retailers. The campaign aimed to build brand awareness for Kara, a new player in the food industry, ensuring widespread recognition of its identity, particularly among consumers and retail outlets like supermarkets and cash-and-carry stores. It also sought to introduce Kara’s coconut water in a unique and engaging way, allowing potential consumers to sample the product firsthand. Given the presence of established competitors in the market, the activation aimed to differentiate Kara, making a lasting impression on both consumers and retailers. Finally, the campaign prioritised direct consumer interaction, positioning Kara as a brand that engages its audience and offers memorable experiences that would foster loyalty and encourage repeat purchases.

The campaign strategy for the Kara Bag Outdoor Activation was focused on differentiating Kara, a newcomer in the coconut water category, from more established competitors. The strategy centred around a guerilla marketing approach, leveraging unexpected, attention-grabbing activities to create a memorable experience for the public. At the heart of the activation was the oversized Kara Bag, which was larger than anything most people had ever seen and became an instant focal point wherever it went. This bag, designed to carry free samples of Kara coconut water, was used by staff to engage passersby across key landmarks in both London and Birmingham.

Our Promotional Staff played a key role

As the success of this activation relied heavily on enthusiasm and energy, as an agency we worked diligently to ensure that the right promotional staff was selected for the role. The core team needed to be full of enthusiasm, able to captivate the public, and comfortable walking long distances in high-footfall areas. The staff played a crucial role in making sure the oversized bag and the product samples would spark curiosity and leave a lasting impression on everyone they encountered, making the brand both memorable and approachable.
A Visual Attraction: The oversized Kara Bag served as the core element of this outdoor activation. The bag was designed to be striking and impossible to ignore, making it an immediate focal point on the streets of London and Birmingham. The bag was big enough to carry multiple cases of coconut water, which were distributed for free to members of the public. Its distinctive design, featuring the brand’s logo and messaging, helped amplify the brand’s visibility.
Sampling Strategy: Our team of promotional staff, equipped with the enormous Kara Bag, roamed high-footfall areas of London and Birmingham, distributing free samples of the coconut water to unsuspecting passersby. This method allowed the brand to engage directly with the public, creating a hands-on experience that left a lasting impression. People could sample the refreshing coconut water and learn about the brand firsthand.
Target Locations: The activation took place in popular and strategic locations across the two popular cities. Busy shopping districts, parks, and transportation hubs were chosen for their high levels of foot traffic, ensuring maximum exposure for the Kara brand. Specific areas of focus included popular shopping malls, outdoor events, and crowded streets where commuters and shoppers were most likely to engage with the activation.
Staff and Engagement: Our team of promotional staff were trained not just to hand out samples, but also to educate the public about the brand’s mission and values. Each ambassador had a deep understanding of Kara’s positioning, the product’s benefits, and the story behind the brand. They were also equipped with promotional material, ensuring that those who didn’t receive a sample could still take-home information about Kara.
Social Media Usage: Throughout the campaign, social media played an important role in amplifying the reach of the activation. Both the Unisnacks and Kara social media channels were used to engage with the public, encouraging people to share their experiences with the hashtag #KaraOnTheGo. This helped to create a sense of community among participants and expanded the activation’s reach beyond the streets of London and Birmingham.

Results: The Kara Bag Outdoor Activation was a resounding success.
The Kara Bag Outdoor Activation was a resounding success and stands as a prime example of how guerilla marketing, when executed well, can effectively build brand awareness and drive consumer engagement. By creating a visually striking experience that was both fun and memorable, Unisnacks and Kara achieved their objective of introducing the new coconut water brand to the market in a way that resonated with consumers and retailers alike. The success of this campaign paves the way for future brand activations that continue to push the boundaries of traditional marketing.

Case Study: Promotional Models at the Coventry Building Society Arena

In February 2024, the Coventry Building Society Arena was the venue for an exciting industry event that brought together professionals and businesses to network, learn, and showcase innovations in a vibrant environment. Among the event’s many standout exhibitors, National Tool Hire was a key participant. Their goal was to maximise attendee engagement, foster direct interactions, and generate high-quality leads. To ensure the success of their involvement, National Tool Hire partnered with Dreams, an event staffing agency, to provide a team of professional promotional models. These models were tasked with enhancing brand visibility, driving foot traffic, and ensuring that attendees had a memorable experience. The results were overwhelming, with the event proving to be a resounding success, setting the stage for future collaboration and expansion.

Identifying the Models role for the client

For this event, every detail of the promotional team’s involvement was meticulously planned to meet National Tool Hire’s specific needs. Each team member was carefully handpicked based on their skills, professionalism, and demeanour, ensuring a perfect match with the event’s goals and the client’s brand ethos. The promotional models’ roles were thoughtfully tailored to maximise attendee engagement and ensure a strong connection with the brand. Their responsibilities included interactive engagement, providing an inviting atmosphere at the client’s stand, and supporting a lead generation strategy.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The promotional team worked seamlessly to execute the following key tasks:
1. Interactive Engagement
The promotional models moved throughout the event space, engaging with attendees in a dynamic and approachable manner. They distributed branded cupcakes and pens—items that were not only practical but served as effective conversation starters. The branded items helped generate curiosity and drive foot traffic to the client’s stand. As attendees engaged with the models, the brand remained at the forefront of their minds, creating lasting impressions of National Tool Hire.
2. Meet and Greet
At the National Tool Hire stand, the promotional models played an essential role in creating a welcoming and positive environment. With enthusiasm and professionalism, they greeted every visitor, providing them with information about the ongoing competition. Visitors were encouraged to fill out a form to enter for a chance to win valuable vouchers. This interactive element served as both an incentive for participation and a key part of the lead-generation strategy, resulting in meaningful interactions with potential clients.
3. Data Collection
The promotional models also efficiently managed the data collection process. After attendees completed their entry forms, the models ensured that all collected data was securely passed on to National Tool Hire. This data was crucial for follow-up communication after the event, allowing the client to nurture relationships with potential leads and further their business opportunities.

How Dream’s Models impacted the clients show stand

The deployment of promotional models proved highly effective in achieving the goals set by National Tool Hire. The models contributed to several measurable outcomes:
1. Increased Foot Traffic
The models’ roaming efforts played a pivotal role in generating buzz throughout the venue. By engaging with attendees at strategic locations, including the areas outside the venue, the promotional team created a sense of excitement that increased the number of visitors to the National Tool Hire stand. The vibrant and interactive atmosphere the team cultivated helped make the stand one of the most attractive destinations at the event.
2. Promotional Models Enhanced Attendee Engagement
Thanks to the personable and approachable demeanour of the promotional models, attendees were drawn into conversations about National Tool Hire’s products and services. Many visitors not only entered the competition but also took the time to learn more about what the client offered. This deeper engagement helped establish a genuine connection between the attendees and the brand, making them more likely to remember National Tool Hire in the future.
3. Effective Lead Generation
The combination of the giveaway competition and the promotional models’ interactive approach resulted in a significant number of high-quality leads for National Tool Hire. Each interaction was purposeful, ensuring that attendees were genuinely interested in the client’s offerings. The leads collected during the event provided National Tool Hire with valuable opportunities for future business, and the professional handling of these leads set the stage for post-event follow-up.
4. Memorability
The branded cupcakes and pens proved to be more than just giveaways—they became lasting reminders of National Tool Hire’s presence at the event. The cupcakes were a sweet treat, and the pens served as a functional, everyday
5. item, ensuring that the brand stayed visible well after the event had ended. This extended visibility was a key benefit, as attendees continued to carry the pens and remember their positive experience with National Tool Hire, reinforcing the brand’s message in their day-to-day activities.

Professional Models added energy in the Promotion of their product

National Tool Hire expressed high levels of satisfaction with the performance of the promotional team. They were particularly impressed with the professionalism, energy, and seamless integration of the models into the event. The client noted that the promotional models effectively engaged with attendees, managed interactions with great care, and provided essential support for the brand’s lead-generation activities. Their positive feedback underscores the success of the collaboration and highlights the value that the promotional team added to the overall event experience.

Through a combination of roaming engagement, personalised interactions, and lead-generation activities, the team significantly boosted brand visibility, increased foot traffic, and helped the client meet their event objectives. The promotional models’ efforts not only created a memorable experience for attendees but also played a crucial role in securing valuable business opportunities.

The Captive Audience – Why it’s a good idea to use Sampling Staff

The ‘Weekly Shop’ – its something we all have to do regularly, isn’t it? Whether you’re an organized shopper who checks their fridges and cupboards, meal plans and maps their route round the aisles or someone who goes in store with a vague idea of what they fancy eating, it’s a weekly recurrent task that takes us into our local supermarket to spend our hard earned cash. To the big supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Tesco this is fantastic news – regular, loyal customers who are essentially a ‘captive audience’!

Why Is Product Sampling So Effective in Supermarkets?

Customers are entering the store ready and willing to buy products and spend money. By positioning a sampling stand at the entrance (where they would naturally pause to pick up a basket, trolley or self-scanning device) you are creating an enticing distraction and offering a ‘treat’ or ‘reward’ for them undertaking their weekly chore. Everyone loves a freebie, and the chance to try something new is irresistible! Additionally in terms of branding, it allows your target audience the opportunity to use all their senses to fully engage with your product – where else would a potential customer be able to feel, smell, taste and touch a product before purchasing? And then be able to give you honest, on the spot feedback?

Why Use Dreams Agency for Sampling Staff?

We have thousands of experienced sampling staff across the country. They have the confidence to approach your target customer, engage them in conversation and obtain product feedback. You could of course opt to use your own staff for the sampling, but do they have the particular skill set required to optimize the time they spend on the sampling stand? Time that could be better spent doing their usual job?
Interested? Our booking process is simple! Simply fill in the details on our contact form or give us a call to obtain your quote and we’ll talk you through the rest!

Summer and outside events are a match made in heaven

Here are ten top tips to make sure your summer event is perfect.

1. Add some personal touches
Think about how you can create a personal touch for participants. Are you providing goodie bags? Don’t leave them as an anonymous corporate sample, put people’s names on them. Think too about what your audience are really interested in and make the event relevant.

2. Invitations
Take a few seconds extra when sending out invitations and personalise them. An unusual or themed invite will make it stand out and encourage people to seriously consider coming.

3. Theme
Whatever your chosen theme, emphasise key messages and brand identity by using coloured lighting, and creative elements such as the use of character mascots, promotional personnel.

4. Venue
Think about how your theme can be stressed via your choice of venue. A traditional theme can be given extra atmosphere by opting for a historic space. Add some imaginative touches to your presentation. How about giving it a red carpet element with a hired crowd creating a touch of Hollywood magic?

5. Wet Weather
Sunny, warm days are perfect for summer events – but this is Britain, and there is always the chance of wet or cool weather. Make sure there is an alternative available in the form of a marquee or indoor space to provide some shelter. This means your event will go ahead no matter whether it is too hot, too wet or too muddy. Having some supplies of branded umbrellas and ponchos available will also create extra good will.

6. Production
Make sure that a good sound system has been installed. You will want everyone to hear what is being said or done during the event. If it goes on into the evening, lighting may also be needed.

7. Add a sensory element
Give your event an extra impact by adding a sensory element. The aroma of flowers is a key part of a summer’s day, but scent is all too often forgotten in event preparation. Why not include scented invitations?

8. Summer menus
Barbeques are a common element in summer events, but why not add an extra touch by including a variety of food trucks? It adds variety and all tastes and diets can be included.

9. Entertainment
Outdoor events provide lots of scope for adding some entertainment to the event. Think about an outdoor band, a magician, stilt walkers, acrobats, and if your event continues into the night fire eaters and fire jugglers add a real touch of spectacle and wonder.

10. Memories
Make sure your guests leave with lots of memories of the event. Themed goodie bags are always popular, likewise special photographs especially if taken alongside a character mascot!

Sponsoring events is always a great way to gain publicity

No matter whether they are undertaken within a firm or on a public basis, they are guaranteed to create a feel good factor. The more unusual they are, the better!

Organic food company Rude Health held what has to be one of the most unusual sponsorships this summer when it sponsored the World Bog Snorkelling championships in Wales! This is an event that has been taking place for many years, and attracts participants from all over the world. Located in the Welsh town of Llanwrtyd Wells, the Bog Snorkelling Championships require participants to swim along a bog channel, preferably in fancy dress and compete for the fastest time.

Rude Health co-founder Camilla Barnard commented, “We hardly ever sponsor anything, but if I could imagine an activity which totally encapsulates Rude Health energy, it would be this. Bog snorkelling is fun, inclusive, batty and completely uncompetitive. It couldn’t be more in rude health.”

Apart from having its name on the event and the medals awarded to every participant, Rude Health served snacks, hot chocolates and its dairy free turmeric lattes at the event.

Want to get your brand name in the air?

Over the years, the world’s only aerobatic formation wing walking team has attracted massive attention at all kinds of displays as they perform acrobatics while flying at high speed through air on the wings of a stunt plane. Definitely death-defying and attention grabbing! Aerosuperbatics have taken to the skies as the Utterly Butterly Wing Walkers, The Crunchie Flying Circus and the Breitling WingWalkers.

Sustainable Software company Greenleaf grabbed the headlines by linking up with Cheltenham City Racecourse by creating the first ever Zero-carbon race day. It set up a Greentech Expo involving over 200 companies, as well as the race itself as a way of promoting its credentials as an independent certification body and tech company.

Unusual sponsorships provide an immediate talking point

It doesn’t have to be a big time event, there are lots of opportunities for smaller scale ones which can be ideal as a local or regional activity. Supporting a charity by holding a murder mystery event, a treasure hunt, abseiling down a building can attract a lot of attention. For something slightly different, you can even consider sponsoring a fire walk event. The idea is simple – people raise money by obtaining sponsorship to walk across hot coals!

The opportunities to gain publicity from such events are considerable. It offers numerous company engagement possibilities on social media. You can create blogs, encourage staff engagement such as sponsoring staff teams to take part. Think about competitions and promotions that can be held on the day to gain extra publicity and public engagement.

Consider all the ways in which you can maximise brand visibility

Have a company stand with banners located in a prominent position. Bring in promotional staff to hand out giveaways such as branded merchandise, tote bags, healthy snacks, reusable cups, mugs and straws. Have special bags available for participants to take away as well as other items for more general use available to the public coming to watch the event.

Add a little extra fun by providing a character mascot to roam around in a special costume. Such mascots immediately attract attention and make people smile. The resultant photographs of the mascot with members of the public and participants invariably appear on social media and can often go viral.

Awards systems are a great way to incentivise staff and encourage the development of community initiatives

The Coronation provides a fantastic opportunity to link into a momentous national event by organising some special awards in your business or locality.

All it takes is a little time and preparation. Decide on your target market – your staff or your potential customers and devise a simple scheme. Perhaps asking for nominations for someone who has made a difference this winter or recognising levels of customer care?

You could give it extra Coronation impact by choosing a related theme. It could be focus on aspects of the Coronation or the King’s interests in conservation and heritage by linking with a relevant local charity or community group.

Gloucestershire pizza makers, CasaGees, have done exactly that – and it is gaining them considerable publicity. They have launched an awards scheme called Takeway2Giveaway as a way of marking the Coronation. Over the Coronation weekend, they plan to donate half their profits from weekend pizza delivery sales to a charity or good cause located within a four mile radius of their business.

Members of the local community are requested to nominate projects that they feel need extra support. It could be a local charity, a sports team or a community group. CasaGees will shortlist 3 projects out of these nominations. People will have to vote for one of these. The project with the most votes will receive the donation within one week of the coronation.

It’s a simple idea but effective and can be set up within days.

One of the big advantages in running an awards system is that it attracts goodwill and makes people feel good. Whatever the scheme, it can create a fantastic promotional activity for the business at every stage of the process. Even just sending out regular social media posts will attract attention. Why not hire an eyecatching character mascot? If your scheme has a conservation theme, you could think about an animal, flower or tree. Such characters definitely attract attention – the British Asparagus Festival has its own Gus the Asparagus Man dressed up as a stick of asparagus! Add in a few stunts with the aid of promotional staff and the publicity potential can easily go viral.

For larger schemes involving several recipients, you can even give it extra prominence by creating a memorable red carpet event complete with comperes and renting a crowd to cheer on the participants.

With an audience of millions, the coronation of King Charles III is set to attract massive attention. From the massive crowds lining the procession route in London, to all those watching on TV, or taking part in local events; this is an event that will undoubtedly prove popular.

For businesses, it marks an incredible opportunity to capitalise on the event and the opportunities it presents especially when it comes to promotional activity.

Employing extra merchandising staff to encourage sampling of specially created food or to distribute special promotional merchandise like key rings, pens, mugs, t-shirts, caps, flags and bunting is a great way to develop a brand and attract new customers. It helps create a buzz about your products and give your brand extra visibility.

A big advantage to using promotional products in this way is that they are inexpensive, and useful – which is important given the increasing attention being paid to issues of sustainability. Compared to other forms of advertising, distributing promotional products is relatively cheap allowing you to get your brand in front of a massive audience without breaking the bank.

Nor is it just a one off use for a couple of days. If you carefully choose your products and position your brand carefully, such items can remain in use for some time for example every time someone uses a pen bearing a logo or brand name, it provides an instant reminder ensuring users are aware of the brand.

Distributing promotional products shows appreciation for your customer base, and arouses interest from potential customers. It encourages customer loyalty and repeat business which is really important to every business.

With the Coronation looming in just a matter of weeks, there is still time to take advantage of the potential marketing opportunities. All it needs is a little preparation and thought to decide what type of promotional material you want to distribute. Think too about the locations you propose to use – do you want to focus on handing out items at the big events around the Coronation itself or work on a more local basis offering food samples instore or at festivals? Or providing promotional merchandise for use by local community groups holding events over the Coronation period?

Don’t forget to book your promotional staff early as demand is high

Talk to us as early as possible to ensure that you get the staff you need, in whatever location you require.
