Exhibitions are back – and staff are in high demand
Everyone knows that exhibitions are the best place to see and be seen, to make new contacts, get business, identify trends and get information. And its not just B2B exhibitions that are returning in full force, consumer shows are just as prevalent. There can be little doubt that 2022 is going to be a very busy year for anyone planning to exhibit at any form of exhibition.
London’s Excel has a packed programme of exhibitions all year, often with several exhibitions on at the same time such as the Smart Retail Tech and White Label World at the beginning of March, Firex 2022 and Intelligent Building Europe 2022 between 17-19 May.
Motorcycles roar in and fill the halls for The Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show in February. This has long been one of the best loved motorcycle events in the UK and a must for anyone involved in the sector.
There is lots of live action too with superstar riders like John McGuinness and Peter Hickman battling it out on a specially created indoor track. All the major bike manufacturers are going to be present and have already promised huge displays with special launches and exclusive bikes. As if that motorcycle action is not enough, retailers will also be selling every type of riding kit from top of the range to clearance items. Visitor numbers are guaranteed to be high, attracting thousands of keen bikers.
Just one month later is Move It, the world’s biggest dance event offering something for everyone, whether teachers, dancers, spectators or professionals. Billed as a ‘celebration of all things dance’, this is where to find everything relating to dancing. Not only can you buy and sell dance products, but there are also chances to learn new dances, take part in talks or watch some of the hottest artistes around. Among the performers taking centre stage are BBC’s Greatest Dancer finalists Dark Angels, West End star Sophie Isaac from Six & Heathers, BGT sensations Flawless and Layton Williams from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Food & drink professionals make a beeline for Excel’s International Food & Drink event. Held between 21-23 March, it is the perfect place for retailers, food service professionals and wholesalers to find new suppliers, discover new tastes and identify trends. Tasting, trying and discussing food & drink is definitely crucial to both participants and visitors. With linked B2B exhibitions IFE Manufacturing and Hotel, Restaurant and Catering taking place at the same time, there is little doubt that attendance levels will be very high.
Within days Excel changes focus to a very different audience, the ever growing numbers of crafters. The Creative Craft Show at the beginning of April is set to be a haven for enthusiasts looking for ideas, products and supplies across a wide range of crafts including paper crafting, jewellery, art, cross stitch, sewing and knitting. Watching demonstrations, trying out a new craft, buying unusual fabrics, learning a new skill will be very much on the minds of every attendee which means exhibitors are definitely going to be kept busy.
June sees the arrival of the national Autism Show offering over 100 hours of talks, clinics and workshops as well as hundreds of specialist products and services. Also in June is Elevate, focusing on all aspects of physical activity, therapy and performance. Having been going now for five years, this has become the crucial exhibition for entrepreneurs, public & private sector professionals and sport scientists. With lots of hands on activities and demand for information, exhibitions like this require a lot of staff for all the various stands.
